DESIGN Designing my next steps using natural cycles.
SUMMARY This design had multiple aims.

1.     To create and test out using my own design process based on natural cycles

2.To reflect on my current career situation

3. To consider how to move my career forwards positively

4. To act as a practical planning tool for my 2018 business planning for Muddy Boots

WHAT DID I LEARN ABOUT PERMACULUTRE FROM DOING THIS DESIGN? The most interesting aspect of this design for me was the matching of Permaculture tools to different stages of my monthly cycle and seeing how they worked most effectively for me based on their timings.
WHAT DID I LEARN ABOUT MYSELF FROM DOING THIS DESIGN? ·      I learnt lots about my cyclical nature.

·      I learnt practical planning and reflecting activities that helped me with my 2018 business planning.

·      I learnt the importance of designing a poly-income for myself

HOW HAS THIS DESIGN HELPED ME? ·      It helped me lots with planning my work for 2018.

·      It helped me with financial planning

·      It helped me to plan my Muddy Boots programme of activities for 2018

·      It helped focus my thinking about the future

·      It helped me decide to get another job alongside my Muddy Boots business.

WHAT WENT WELL WITH THIS DESIGN? I really enjoyed exploring my cyclical nature

This design was very practical for me, so it felt easier to fit into my life than some other designed had been.

WHAT DID I FIND DIFFICULT WITH THIS DESIGN? As I’ve often found, it was difficult to work out what the actual ‘design’ is? Is it the circle with the design tools divided into the four quarters? Is it the financial planning? Is it the implementation plan? I actually think it is all of these. This is often an issue when your design is non-land based and there is not a lovely garden design drawing to be produced.
WHAT ARE MY NEXT STEPS FOR THIS DESIGN?

·      I am implementing the poly-income element now.

·      I am actively looking for woodland to rent or buy to   expand my business.

·      I am advertising and planning my spring season activities

·      I will follow the financial plans throughout 2018

·      I will refer back to this design for my 2018 business       planning.

WHAT ARE MY LONG TERM GOALS AND VISIONS FOR THIS DESIGN? To work with the plans created over the next few years.

To maintain and develop my Muddy Boots business

To maintain poly-incomes streams within MB

To maintain a poly-income outside of MB to create more sustainability for myself and my family
